Chad Kestner
Executive Chef

Chad Kestner has been in the restaurant business for over 25 years. Starting as a dishwasher at the Lafayette Club Kitchen, he quickly worked his way up and became the youngest banquet chef in club history at only 17 years old. Chef Chad then joined the US Navy and upon returning, He started school at Le Cordon Bleu in 2011. After graduating with high honors, Chad was a commis cook at some of the top restaurants in Minnesota such as Le Belle Vie, Butcher & The Boar, and Travail. He then spent the next few years working as a Sous chef for places such as Lola’s on the Lake in Waconia, MN, and McGarry’s Irish Pub in Maple Plain, MN. Chad entered his first Executive Chef position at Medina Golf and Country Club, where he excelled at running the kitchen. After sharing his talents in Medina, he became the Executive chef at Crave before accepting the Executive chef position at DoubleTree St. Louis Park.

Chef Chad specializes in menu development. Being a haute cuisine specialist, Chad loves to bring his passion and edgy style to Citizen.


Jennifer Farni
Chef de Cuisine

During her time at the University of Minnesota, Jennifer Farni worked in various positions within the culinary industry. Just before graduation, she switched paths and enrolled at the Arts Institute International, graduating with a Culinary Management degree. Prior to joining Citizen, she held management positions at The Oceanaire, Victory 44, Parka, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and CōV in Wayzata.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading and exploring the latest in the Twin Cities culinary scene.

The Lounge

Featuring its own entrance into the hotel, mixed dining style with casual seating, and an outside view, The Lounge is ideal for your reception or cocktail party. With room for 80 guests, this is the place to see and be seen, offering a hip, high-energy space for your next event.

The Parlor

Spacious enough to seat 22 comfortably for dinner — or 40 guests standing — The Parlor is ideal for birthdays, wedding showers, engagement celebrations, corporate presentations, and formal events. With a 50-inch flat screen TV and high-speed Internet, The Parlor is as well-equipped for your slideshow presentation as it is cocktails and dinner.

Capitol Room

The intimate Capitol Room, with seating for 6, transitions seamlessly from business meeting to dinner service. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and comfortable surroundings, the Capitol Room is the perfect spot for entertaining clients, closing the big deal, or hosting any gathering that requires a bit of privacy.
